Under the direction of the Manager, or the Cook, the Dietary Assistant is responsible for assisting in the preparation, serving, and delivery of resident meals, washing of dishes, stocking of supplies in preparation of the next meal, cleaning of the work areas. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Ability to read, write and speak English and to write and follow oral and written direction. 2. Prior experience in commercial food production preferred. 3. Ability to follow menus, portion control guides, diet cards, etc. in preparing/dispensing meals; attention to details and alert to problems that may arise. 4. Ability to prepare and dispense special diets accurately. 5. Demonstrates ability as a team player in the department, demonstrating courteousness, cooperation, discretion, interest in geriatric problems. 6. Demonstrates flexibility as situations change. 7. Must be physically capable to stand and walk short distances most of the day, stoop, reach and lift, carry food and kitchen equipment, dexterous with hands. 8.
